Additional Activities

Activities of the NCI Liaison Office have been extended to include collaboration with the International Network for Cancer Research & Treatment. The INCTR is dedicated to helping build capacity for cancer research and treatment in developing countries. The INCTR receives partial support from the NCI’s Office of International Affairs; it is located in Brussels at the Institute Pasteur.

The Liaison Office currently performs several other important functions to promote collaboration between the US NCI and Europe:

• Provision of logistical support for individual projects of joint transatlantic interest
• Coordination of exchange and training programs in collaboration with INCTR
• Coordination of additional review of EORTC PhIII protocol outlines by selected NCI specialists
• Representation on several European drug development committees and working groups
• Identification of new European groups with an interest to submit their research protocols to PDQ® Cancer Clinical Trials Registry
